To prepare quality individuals with the highest standards of education in all facets of Therapeutic Massage and help those individuals seeking licensure successfully pass the MBLEX exam and become gainfully employed in the field of Massage Therapy.
TSTM seeks to provide each student in the basic massage therapy program the skills, knowledge, and training necessary to become licensed in the state of Tennessee, successfully pass the National Certification Examination, and become gainfully employed in the field of Therapeutic Massage.
Admissions Procedure and Qualifications
Tennessee School of Therapeutic Massage, Inc. (TSTM), in its admission, instruction, and graduation policies, does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, creed, religion, financial status, disability or ethnicity. TSTM does require all students to have attained a minimum education of a high school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age. In addition, all students will be required to complete the enclosed school application, with special emphasis placed on the student’s reasons for wanting to enter into the field of Massage Therapy, as well as the individual’s personal and professional goals for the future. All students will be required to visit the school and have a personal interview with one of the school’s administrators before official acceptance into the school may be granted. Students may be accepted for admission any time prior to the starting date of the class desired. Upon acceptance, all students must sign an enrollment agreement in accordance with the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
We, as well as all other educational institutions, can not guarantee employment as an inducement to your enrolling. However, students attending Tennessee School of Therapeutic Massage are assisted in job placement. As part of our job placement assistance program, the school will be more than happy to call area therapy centers, medical complexes, full-service beauty salons, spas, etc. at which you are seeking employment, as well as review different job opportunities for which you might be best suited. We will arrange your appointment for interviews, advise you on proper dress, and review possible subjects for discussion during our regularly scheduled business class and again at the time of the interview, if necessary.
Graduates of either of our schools may return to Tennessee School of Therapeutic Massage for refresher/brush-up or advanced training at any time, and as many times as desired. This privilege is available at no charge for five years from the date of graduation, and at a minimal charge thereafter.
